    Love adding the cloves. Great idea.

    My favorite tea for something with kick is what I call “HOT ZING TEA” (black tea with ginger and cranberry).

    * 2 black tea bags
    * 2 cups hot water
    * 1/8 – 1/4 cup ginger. I like fresh and thin slices
    * 1/2 cup cranberries
    * 1/2 cup cranberry juice
    * Pinch nutmeg

    I steep tea, ginger, cranberries in water for 15 minutes. Then strain, add nutmeg and warmed cran juice.

    I get tired of always serving coffee. I love the look and comments when I bring out my classic porcelain teapot and then guests are surprised at the zingy taste.

    I’ve heard that Chia lattes have an “Orange Clove” flavor. I’ve also heard there is a popular Chia Tea. Do you know if this is available and can be brewed in a standard teapot?

    Hi Surfer Patrol,

    Chai Tea is very popluar. If fact Chai Lattes are made with Chai Tea. They definitely have a clove flavor and I suppose some people might describe it as orange-clove. There are a lot of different Chai Teas available and they are easily brewed in a standard teapot. Our store, teapotsnmore.com, carries a fabulous Vanilla Chai Tea that has a spicy creamy flavor. The directions for brewing Chai Tea are included below.

    Directions for Use: Place 1 heaping teaspoon of tea for each cup into your teapot. Pour boiling water into teapot. Cover and let steep for 5-10 minutes. While the tea is brewing, put 2 tsp of sugar in your cups and add milk (about 20% of the cup’s volume). When the chai is ready, pour into cups and enjoy!
